Spring cleaning has a different energy this year. For those of us who have spent 90% of our time at home in the past 11 months, the idea of ​​spending an extra day with the dust bunnies isn’t exactly refreshing.

Consider a robotic vacuum cleaner your next quarantine purchase. Samsung’s “End of Winter” event menu includes price cuts of $ 250 for both POWERbot vacuums, with one model dropping to $ 249 and the other to $ 349.

Outwardly, the POWERbots are almost identical (unless you can tell the difference between “satined titanium” and “neutral gray”). Both have a flat edge that can jam into corners, and Samsung claims they provide 40 times more cleaning than a traditional circular design. Sensors and cameras on board run with Visionary Mapping Plus and FullView Sensor 2.0: Samsung’s latest navigation technology that monitors which rooms have already been cleaned and which obstacles have to be avoided. Large (but not particularly cute) wheels allow the POWERbot to switch between carpets and hard floors, with suction power adapted to the type of floor.

Manual settings are made in the mobile app (e.g. quiet mode or scheduled cleaning). However, the LCD screen above the vacuum cleaner itself provides information (like remaining time and battery life) without you having to check your phone.

The main difference between the two is in suction power and battery life: the $ 249 model gets a maximum run time of 10W and 60 minutes, while the $ 349 handout gets 20W and 90 minutes. Both models automatically return to their docks when a nap is needed.
