RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Oracle Netsuite has declared end of life for at least part of an email marketing software suite that has its Durham roots – the Bronto Marketing Platform.
Almost six years after Netsuite acquired Durham-based Bronto Software for approximately $ 200 million, the company (now Oracle Netsuite after Oracle acquired Netsuite in 2016 for approximately $ 9.3 billion) sent an e- Mail to some customers with the messages the company has assigned The core product suite, Bronto Marketing Platform, has an end-of-life status and the last service date is May 31, 2022.
What does “end of life” mean?
Here is a definition from the End of Life software:
“End-of-Life” or EOL is a term used by software vendors to indicate that support for the product and / or version is being terminated or limited in order to shift focus to their newer products and / or versions . Most vendors define a product life cycle, which consists of several phases in which a product moves, whereby “end of life” usually means the last phase (depending on the software provider). These phases determine the type of support customers receive. Examples are maintenance (software updates and security patches) and troubleshooting.
In the special case of product sales, a provider can use the more specific term “end-of-sale” (EOS). The time frame after the last release date depends on the type of product and relates to the expected product life from the customer’s point of view.

“We have important news to report about the Bronto Marketing Platform. In the coming year, we will migrate our marketing automation technology and resources to the Oracle Customer Experience Cloud. We believe this will result in an overall superior customer experience. Due to this strategic plan, we will no longer sell the Bronto Marketing Platform and thus announce the end of its life.
“The purpose of this announcement is to inform your company that the Bronto Marketing Platform has been granted end-of-life status and that the last service date is May 31, 2022. The Bronto Service and any related ACS or Professional Services that you may have ordered are supported until the end of the last service date. You can continue to use the Bronto service until the end of the last service date. If you wish, you can extend your services up to our last service date, May 31, 2022.
“Please ensure that all suitable contacts in your company are made aware of this notice.
“Thank you for being a valued customer. Your account manager will be in touch shortly to discuss the next steps. “
