Karnataka: Lokayukta Orders Investigation of Government Workers’ Outsourcing | Bengaluru News


BENGALURU: Lokayukta Justice P Vishwanath Shetty directed the additional director general of the police force (Lokayukta) to instruct his subordinates across the state to investigate various aspects related to the outsourcing of workers by government departments and also payments to contractors.
A report that must be submitted should highlight the civil servants’ neglect of duty to the implementation of labor protection laws, the Lokayukta regulation said in response to a complaint.
Labor Department officials were asked to review payments to outsourced workers in both government and private institutions.
Regarding the staff shortage in the labor department and the resulting impact on its functioning, Lokayukta said the authorities concerned would investigate the problem, fill vacancies and create new ones if necessary.
