HOUSTON, 17th November 2020 / PRNewswire / – Alert Logic today announced integration with AWS Network Firewall, a new managed service that makes it easy to deploy critical network protection capabilities for Amazon Virtual Private Clouds (Amazon VPCs) on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The support of the AWS Network Firewall gives customers another point of visibility of threats in their IT environments in order to stop high-profile and frequent attacks on web applications. With this integration, Alert Logic provides AWS users with coverage for web application threat detection through a curated set of Alert Logic signatures that cover thousands of web application exploits.

AWS Network Firewall is a managed service that enables AWS customers to detect and block malicious activity on all Amazon VPCs without having to manage or provision the physical infrastructure. It can be easily deployed with just a few clicks and automatically scales with a company’s network traffic.

Custom web applications are ubiquitous in organizations of all sizes. They contain an average of 33 vulnerabilities, six of which are critical and are usually the most frequently attacked asset in a company. With this integration, threats to custom web applications are analyzed using the Alert Logic Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution and security incidents are curated and displayed to customers. This expands the capabilities of internal security teams by addressing alert fatigue so they can focus on more value-added tasks.

“Alert Logic is a valued AWS security partner. A team of managed security professionals work around the clock to identify and proactively respond to threats,” he said Andrew Thomas, General Manager, Perimeter Protection, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “Integration with the AWS Network Firewall provides detailed threat intelligence and security monitoring to help customers reduce the likelihood and impact of a cybersecurity attack.”

By integrating threat intelligence from the Alert Logic MDR ™ solution, AWS Network Firewall users have access to Alert Logic rules, eliminating the need for users to research, develop, and maintain their own rule set and monitor attack activity 24/7. Protecting against web application attacks requires a thorough defense. Organizations can now gain unprecedented insight into this critical vector of attack through a single service that uniquely combines network and protocol telemetry.

“Web applications are essential for businesses and their customers and are among the most targeted and difficult to discover,” he said Onkar Birk |, Chief Product Officer, Alert Logic. “The AWS Network Firewall is the latest visibility point and a great addition to Alert Logic web application discovery, giving security teams a broader view of their attack surface for better security coverage.”
